This gives the path to the currently used python installation, if you are not using Anaconda it might be /usr/local/bin/python3 we can also get the python version. Open up a Terminal window and type which python I'm using Anaconda so the first thing is to get the path to Python. After a fair bit of online searching I managed to put together a set of instructions that I thought I'd share.
